What statistics does Merlin track?
Merlin tracks aggregated performance data for the top 50 Polymarket traders: average P&L and return across 24h, 7d, 30d, and all-time periods, whale tier distribution, return rating breakdown (S/A/B/C/D), and overall profitability rates.
How is trader profitability calculated?
Profitability is measured as the percentage of tracked traders with positive P&L in a given time period. Merlin calculates this across all 4 time periods. Historically, 70–76% of top-50 traders are profitable over 7-day and longer periods.
What are Polymarket whale tiers?
Merlin classifies traders by all-time trading volume into four tiers: Whale (≥$500K), Shark ($100K–$499K), Dolphin ($10K–$99K), and Fish (<$10K). Higher-tier traders have deployed more capital and their performance metrics are statistically more significant.
